Tracc Civil was the principal civil contractor for Precinct A West, covering North Park, the Perth Racing carpark and West Park Boulevard. The works established the underground services, access, road infrastructure, retaining structures and carparking required to support the staged development of the former racecourse land.

The site combined acid sulphate soils, coal fly ash, soft Swan River alluvium and high groundwater with an operating racecourse and sensitive foreshore interface. Tracc Civil sequenced works around racing and training requirements, maintained patron access and installed services beneath the racing surface using trenchless methods. Deep sewer construction incorporated trench boxing, staged dewatering and close survey control. As parallel work fronts increased, service crews expanded from two to six with additional supervision, survey support and plant.
The project demonstrates Tracc Civil’s capability in brownfield land development, deep underground services, trenchless construction and staged delivery beside an active venue. It also reflects the practical coordination maintained by the project team across the client, authorities, consultants and specialist contractors.
