The award recognises Paul’s skill, consistency and contribution across Tracc Civil projects throughout 2025. Paul is one of Tracc Civil’s most experienced plant operators and the company’s second-longest serving employee, having been with Tracc for more than 11 years.
Starting with Tracc as a Leading Hand and primarily a Grader Operator, Paul has developed capability across multiple items of plant. This gives the business flexibility to deploy experienced support where project programs require it.
In 2025, Paul worked across more than 25 sites, supporting project delivery through accurate grading, strong preparation and a practical understanding of site sequencing. His work contributes directly to safety, quality and productivity outcomes across Tracc Civil’s operations.
Paul’s approach is grounded in preparation and awareness. Before commencing works, he reviews site conditions, confirms sequencing and coordinates with supervisors and crews to support safe and efficient plant movements.
His contribution also extends to machine control technology. In April 2021, Paul became the first operator outside North America to run a John Deere SmartGrade mastless GPS motor grader, a milestone publicly recognised by AFGRI.
Since then, Paul has continued to support the use of SmartGrade technology across Tracc Civil projects. This has included assisting with the calibration of new plant, supporting other operators and providing operational feedback to AFGRI to help refine the technology for Australian site conditions.
Paul’s reliability, technical knowledge and willingness to work across projects have made him a valued part of Tracc Civil’s delivery capability.
The awards night also brought the wider Tracc team together in support of Paul and all Tracc Civil nominees. The positive attitude, camaraderie and genuine support shown by the crew reflected the culture that sits behind the work delivered on site each day.
