2025 for Tracc was anything but a straight line. The early months carried the same feel as 2024, lots of market pressure, but if we could handle it then, we should be able to now. By the middle of the year, the Tender and Western Power departments were clearly tested and put under further pressure. Increased workloads and the wettest winter in 50 years forced us to reflect on the run and take a hard look at how we were working. It wasn’t comfortable to do, but it was necessary. We noticed that we were not 20-mile marching anymore, and this needed to change.
We commenced a lot of soul searching, a lot of diving into the data, a lot of conversations with staff and leading hands, we were trying to push Tracc CARE but forgot to Care for ourselves. In the last few months things started to turn around, our project managers started to Collaborate with the tender and IMS departments instead of working in silos. We started to shoot bullets before cannonballs again to continue our Advancement with capex and business development. We brought on more supervisors and continued in house promotions to address and push Responsibility, and we brought our Leading Hand meetings back to increase Engagement with our people. This showed that we always believed in the 20 mile march.
One email at the end of the year from one of the largest Engineering firms that wework with stuck out – “A quick note to say thanks for the beautiful hamper you sent across for Christmas – your team has been absolutely amazing this year – helpful, solutions oriented, adaptable and proactive”.
That’s when you know you are creating a legacy in the industry.
In the last 2 weeks of the year, we were awarded Austin Lakes Stage 24, the largest single contract in the precinct, and awarded a project in Hocking, this was an open tender but for a client that just really wanted to have Tracc on site due to our proactive approach. These are not flukes, we recommitted to the 20 mile march, recommitted to bullets before cannonballs, recommitted to Tracc CARE and recommitted to using our Brain before Heart in a commercial sense. That is why we can come out to Optus Stadium, have a beer with our mates ranging from Yanchep to Dawesville and celebrate our success and at the same time reinforce what Tracc is about, Tracc is Family and Family means we stick together.
