Overview:   

Tracc Civil provided the civil works for the duplication of Ocean Reef Road and Joondalup Drive, including the intersection upgrade which now provides for additional turning lanes to improve traffic flow.

​

The scope of work included the following:

• Demolition work

• Drainage and service installations

• Earthworks, roadworks, kerbing, footpaths and bollards

• Retaining walls

• Soft and hard landscaping and reticulation

• Signal installation

• Signage and road marking as well as traffic management

Project Challenges:

• Very heavy traffic

• Repeated vandalism and theft was a challenge

• Complex traffic control - 50,000vpd on major arterial and designated heavy haulage routes.

 

Managing These Challenges:

• Stringent traffic control measures were implemented

• Work was staged in phases so as not to adversely affect peak traffic

• Significant involvement with subcontractors to co-ordinate night works, landscaping and asphalt works
