Overview

Tracc Civil was contracted to transform Huntingdale’s Sutherlands Park into a new synthetic hockey ground, the first of its kind in Perth’s South-east.

 

Scope of work included the following:

  • Demolition works

  • Earthwork - Ground works to clear and level the site; install sub-soil drainage and deliver infill to raise flood-prone areas by up to 800mm

  • Retaining & rebound walls

  • Turf sprinkler system, water storage tank and water treatment system

  • Lighting and electrical controls

  • Stormwater drainage

  • Security fences and gates

  • Player and technical control shelters

  • Sewer pump station and associated facilities

  • Sewer rising main and sewer reticulation mains

  • Demolition of existing buildings

  • Road base of 6000m2 to very strict tolerances

Project Challenges

  • Strict time requirements as City of Gosnells staff is based onsite

  • Junior training needed to continue during construction
     

Managing These Challenges

  • Fencing was installed to prevent access to site locations under construction.

  • Effective communication between City of Gosnells staff, Western Power and third party entities to provide seamless construction that met the deadlines provided.
